Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician for the Sierrita operation near Tucson, AZ. The role involves safe maintenance, installation, and repair of milling plant equipment including conveyors, mills, pumps, and related systems.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to read schematics and blueprints. We offer competitive pay ($24.00–$32.00/hr) with benefits, 401(k), PTO and opportunities for internal progression in a 24/7

Qualifications

• One year of experience in mechanical/maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Complete academic competencies required and demonstrate mechanical aptitude; pass a written assessment on technical skills and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment and processes in the Milling plant including mills, conveyors, screens and like systems.
• Assist with and perform component replacement and repairs on conveyors, ball mills, auto mills, screen decks, lube systems, filter drums, crushers, hydraulic filter presses, and foundry pumps.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance: identify potential failures/noises/wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, gear boxes.
• May perform welding (Stick, TIG).
• Maintain work orders, keep a clean and safe work area, and conduct inspections.
• Perform other duties as required.
