Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Field Service Technician based in Elko, NV, to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair on a range of mining equipment, ensuring safety and peak performance for customers’ operations.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform repairs at customer sites, and document tasks while collaborating with field teams and adhering to safety practices. Occasional travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a related technical service role, with preference for mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent of at least one year of technical college focused on mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Replace or repair defective parts at customer sites while maintaining safety standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before returning to operation.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet downtime targets.
• Utilize motor controls knowledge, circuit installations, and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in aligning couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs for continuous improvement.
