Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Mining Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 based at Canon City, CO. This 10-week, paid internship offers hands-on exposure to aggregates operations, data analysis, and collaboration with geology, engineering, and safety teams.

You will learn production processes, maintenance activities, and how to present findings to leadership while developing leadership and technical skills in a high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mine Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology or similar fields.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on learning across production, maintenance, and product knowledge at Aggregate sites.
• Collect and analyze data to identify process correlations and support project strategies.
• Gain exposure to daily mine operations including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Learn maintenance and operation of heavy mining equipment with operators.
• Collaborate with geology, engineering, and safety teams to understand operations.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring safety protocols and procedures.
• Apply multiple skills daily to achieve team and company goals.
• Present learnings and contributions to executive leadership at internship end.
