Crucible ETN invites a Mining Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 at the East Tennessee Mines. You will support the Engineering team with data collection, daily production reporting, and field surveys while learning underground development techniques.

The role emphasizes safety, CAD drawing updates, ventilation surveys, and planning support. Enrolled in Mining Engineering (2nd or 3rd year) with a valid driver's license and strong Excel skills will thrive in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mining Engineering program (2nd or 3rd year).
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel; strong data handling skills.
• Able to pass background check and post-offer physical.
• Awareness of MSHA regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Support daily crew safety meetings and maintain safe work behavior.
• Assist in data compilation, validation, and daily production reports.
• Conduct regular underground surveys of development headings; install laser and survey stations.
• Create/update CAD drawings related to development, ground support, and construction.
• Perform ventilation surveys and assist in related reports.
• Provide planning-related task support to the short-term planning lead.
