Job summary

Crucible ETN is seeking a Mining Engineer to develop daily and weekly plans, designs and schedules for underground mining operations in the United States. You will coordinate with Operations, Geology and Design teams to ensure timely, safe execution and compliant practices.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, continuous improvement, and effective scheduling to support RoFo objectives and efficient mine performance.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in mining engineering in underground environments.
• Tertiary qualification in a mining-related discipline.
• Experience driving best practice in the department and business.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to MSHA regulatory and company standards.
• Develop weekly plan (7+21) and ensure alignment with ROFO.
• Generate drill and blast designs and waste/back filling plans as required.
• Collaborate with Mine Operations, Geology, Survey, Geotech and Mine Design.
• Visit Underground site regularly to ensure execution aligns with the plan.

The Role

The Mining Engineer is primarily responsible to develop daily and weekly plans, designs and schedules and to ensure that all the required designs are ready on a timely manner for the execution of the plan and aligned in such a way as to reduce departmental interactions in the mine and promote efficient work scheduling.

Key Accountabilities

• Adhere to all MSHA regulatory and company standards
• Must have a safety- first mindset; leading the way to a safe work environment
• Promote and assist in maintaining a positive work culture
• Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
• Developing the weekly (7+21) plan to achieve the Rolling 3-month plan (RoFo)
• Generating drill and blast designs
• Developing short terms level designs
• Developing waste/back filling plans if required
• Work closely with Mine Operations, Geology, Survey, Geotech and Mine Design when developing the mine plans and schedule
• Undertaking regular Underground site visits to ensure that execution is compliant to the plan
• Attend safety meetings and demonstrate safely leadership
• Assist in development of SOPs and JSEA procedures
• Work closely with senior mine planner to ensure that the 7+21 plan is complaint to the ROFO plan
• Work closely with the engineering, geology and Mine Operations team to develop a robust mine plans, designs and schedules

Qualifications / Requirements

• 1-2 Years in Mining Engineering in an underground environment
• Tertiary Qualifications in a Mining Related Discipline
• Experience in driving best practice through your department and into the business.
• Ability to understand functionality of business systems and extract relevant data for business purposes
• Track record in driving continuous improvement
• Preference for experience in Deswik
