Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America offers an internship in the mining and construction materials sector based in the McCook, IL area. You will gain hands-on field experience supporting aggregate mining operations and assist with safety and environmental compliance initiatives.

Selected interns will collect and analyze operational data, report findings, and collaborate with plant leadership on cross-functional projects to improve efficiency, quality and performance in a fast-paced site

Qualifications

  • Pursuing degree in mining, geology, engineering, construction materials, or related fields.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify solutions, and support operational decision-making.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly, and perform effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily aggregate mining and production operations through hands-on field experience.
  • Assist with safety, environmental, and operational compliance initiatives.
