Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America in Duluth, GA is seeking an Operations Intern to support daily plant and quarry activities. You will help drive safety, quality, and productivity while analyzing data and preparing reports for leadership.

Based at an aggregate plant or quarry, you will collaborate with operations leaders on production, maintenance and efficiency projects, develop practical problem-solving skills, and learn industrial operations in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a related field (opmgmt, eng, mining, etc).
• Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to manage priorities, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily plant and quarry operations to drive safety, quality and productivity.
• Analyze operational data and assist with identifying process improvements.
• Partner with operations leaders on projects related to production, maintenance and efficiency.
• Conduct site observations and contribute to safety initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

What Are We Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Mining, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and an eagerness to learn industrial operations.

Work Environment

• Primarily based at an aggregate plant and/or quarry operation.
• Exposure to outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, production equipment, and active job sites.
• Requires adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Opportunities to work closely with experienced operations professionals and site leadership.
