Job summary

Nevada Cement Company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead mining activities at our facility in Nevada. You will plan and direct mining operations to meet production targets, develop mine plans, coordinate drilling and blasting, and ensure safe, compliant and efficient plant performance.

The role requires strong planning, budgeting, and cross-functional coordination skills, with an emphasis on safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading mining and production planning for cement operations.
• Ability to develop short- and long-term mine plans and coordinate site activities.
• Experience managing budgets, costs, and capital expenditures.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate mining activities to meet production targets.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term mine plans.
• Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, and stockpile management.
• Optimize equipment utilization and workforce productivity.
• Monitor production rates and adjust operations to meet targets.
• Coordinate crusher feed with plant operations.
• Ensure inventory and quality of raw materials for the cement plant.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Oversee dust control, stormwater management, reclamation, and permit compliance.
• Maintain environmental records and reporting.
• Prepare and manage the annual mine operating budget.
• Monitor costs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage expenditures for labor, equipment, fuel, explosives, and contractors.
• Support capital project planning and execution.
• Maintain production reports and operating metrics.
• Analyze KPIs to improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with geology, engineering, quality control, and plant operations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and train employees.

Specific Job Requirements

Operations Management

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all mining activities to achieve production targets.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term mine plans.
• Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, and stockpile management.
• Optimize equipment utilization and workforce productivity.
• Monitor production rates and adjust operations to meet daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
• Coordinate crusher feed requirements with plant operations.
• Ensure proper inventory and quality of raw materials supplied to the cement plant.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Oversee dust control, stormwater management, reclamation activities, and permit compliance.
• Maintain accurate environmental records and reporting.
• Coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies as required.
  Budget & Cost Control
  
• Prepare and manage the annual mine operating budget.
  
• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture in compliance with MSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all employees and contractors receive required safety training.
