Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a MineStar for Underground service engineer to join the Tucson team. You will troubleshoot Command, Fleet, and Detect systems, analyze logs, and coordinate with dealers and customers worldwide to deliver permanent solutions.

You will partner with engineering and product teams, support deployments, and ensure effective incident management while working onsite in Tucson, AZ. Strong technical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering or other technical degree with 1–5 years of relevant experience or 5–10 years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in complex industrial technology environments, including Windows Server, VMware/ESXi, Linux, SQL Server, Azure, and TCP/IP networking.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis across software, server, machine systems, network connectivity, sensors, and positioning technologies.
• Background supporting autonomous, tele-remote, or mission-critical operational systems in mining/manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience analyzing system logs and performance data to diagnose problems while meeting SLAs.
• Knowledge of virtualization, networking, video streaming, radio communications, industrial computing platforms, and Remote Operator Stations.
• Product support or field service experience with customers, dealers, and engineering teams; mining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve MineStar for Underground issues across Command, Fleet, and Detect to restore service.
• Analyze logs, connectivity, sensors, and hardware to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to Caterpillar dealers and mining customers worldwide, with regular status updates.
• Manage and prioritize cases by severity and impact, meet Incident Management SLAs, and coordinate emergency response.
• Collaborate with Product Support and Engineering to elevate defects and track corrective actions.
• Support new product introductions and deployments by completing NPI deliverables and developing documentation and best practices.
