Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a MineStar Onboard Specialist to provide on-site technical support for Command for hauling at a Northern Nevada mine site. You will troubleshoot, optimize, and collaborate with Caterpillar engineers and dealer teams to ensure system performance.

The role operates on a 7/7 day shift cycle with relocation support and travel to customer sites as needed. Key tasks include owning onboard hardware health, ensuring system integration, documenting issues, and communicating

Qualifications

• Experience with mining technology and large mining equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and field support experience.
• Ability to read schematics/models and diagnose issues.

Responsibilities

• Own onboard hardware health and availability for MineStar/Command for hauling fleet.
• Manage machine and system integration of onboard components and networks.
• Troubleshoot field issues and document findings through resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze autonomy and base machine fault data to support root-cause analysis.
• Report hardware/software status clearly and escalate when needed.
• Coach customer personnel and internal teams on Command for hauling usage.
• Present technical findings to stakeholders in a clear, practical manner.
