Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a MineStar Onboard Specialist to be the on-site expert supporting MineStar Command for hauling. You’ll troubleshoot, optimize, and collaborate with customer teams, dealer personnel, and Caterpillar engineers to ensure systems perform at their best in remote mining environments.

You’ll work at a Nevada mine site with a 7/7 day rotation, travel to site, and may receive relocation assistance. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with mining technology and large mining equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems in harsh environments.
• Strong diagnostic mindset and field support capability.

Responsibilities

• Own onboard hardware health and availability for MineStar/Command for hauling fleet.
• Manage machine/system integration; ensure onboard components and networks work together.
• Troubleshoot field issues; document findings and drive resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze autonomy and fault data to support root-cause analysis and performance.
• Report status and critical failures clearly; escalate when required.
• Coach customer personnel and internal teammates on Command for hauling usage.
• Present technical findings to maintenance and operations stakeholders clearly.
