Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Tire Maintenance Technician to support mining operations at our open-pit facilities. You will troubleshoot, service tires, and perform tire and wheel repairs, including patches, plugs, stems, and replacements, under limited supervision.

Candidates should have at least two years of tire repair or mechanical maintenance experience, be able to read schematics, and work safely in a 24/7 operation. We offer comprehensive benefits and mandatory safety programs.

Qualifications

• Two years’ tire repair or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Safety-conscious with ability to follow procedures.
• English language proficiency for safety instructions.
• Academic and practical competencies completed as required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose tire and wheel issues; patch, plug, stem, and replace tires.
• Perform tire replacement and preventive maintenance; monitor wear, temperature, and tire condition.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, cranes, tire handlers, and loaders.
• Train other employees to safely complete tire repairs.
• Read and follow verbal and written safety instructions in English.
