Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years of technical, operational, or management experience in mines, mills, beneficiation plants, or smelters.
• One year of experience spent working underground.
• Conduct safety and health inspections pursuant to NRS 512.170.
• Provide technical assistance to mine operators to improve compliance.
• Develop and deliver federally required formal training for mine operators and workers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety and health inspections at surface and underground mines, mills, quarries, and related facilities.
• Deliver and support training for mine employees.
• Investigate mine accidents and prepare investigative reports.
• Issue notices of violation and closure orders as appropriate.
• Testify at hearings and assist with enforcement actions.
