Job summary

SSR Mining Inc. is seeking a Safety and Health Specialist at the Marigold Mine to provide occupational safety and health guidance, training and support for employees and contractors.

You will oversee site training programs, manage LMS operations, and participate in audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring safety compliance. The role requires strong MSHA knowledge and the ability to work with multiple departments and contractors.

Qualifications

• Proven safety or training experience in surface mining (2+ years).
• Occupational safety or health degree preferred; MSHA instructor certification desired.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Experience with Workday is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and health guidance and training to site personnel and contractors.
• Oversee training programs including new hire, annual refresher, hazard, and compliance trainings.
• Maintain LMS operations, updates, audits, and reporting.
• Lead safety audits, site inspections, and regulatory inspections.
• Support contractor vetting, onboarding, and field activities.
