Job summary

Windsor Salt Ltd. in Windsor, VT, is seeking a Project Engineer to serve as a technical expert overseeing contractors in underground mining operations and surface milling. You will perform engineering analyses and cost estimates for capital appropriation requests to maintain plant operations.

Responsibilities include leading HSE compliance, risk assessments, MOC activities, and coordinating procurement, contracts, and project closeout to ensure safety, on-schedule delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• P.Eng designation preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Experience with capital project management and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment with leadership in health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead project risk assessments and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
• Plan, manage, and execute capital and sustaining engineering projects from concept through commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost reports.
• Coordinate procurement, contractor coordination, invoicing, and payments.
• Oversee third-party inspections of critical mine infrastructure and ensure corrective actions.
• Provide engineering support to Production and Maintenance for reliability and asset performance.
• Lead investigations and troubleshooting for major equipment failures and shutdowns.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and technical evaluations for mine development.
• Evaluate processes and implement engineering solutions for safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Manage design, construction, installation, commissioning, and project closeout per specs.
