This leadership role provides direction on a rotating twelve-hour schedule to safely and efficiently execute planned work, aiming to meet departmental goals and overall business objectives for the Mine Operations Department. Responsibilities include leading the operations team, ensuring safety, quality, and cost control, and coordinating with engineering, maintenance, and plant operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of heavy industry experience.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in mining/mineral processing.
• High degree of computer literacy.
• Demonstrate data interpretation and analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction within the mine operations department to ensure safe and compliant work performed to meet standards.
• Direct, coordinate, and motivate personnel to execute plans and achieve department targets.
• Responsible for safe, quality execution of departmental work.
• Report and address deviations from the plan to meet targets.
• Promote teamwork and clear communication of expectations and assignments.
• Collaborate with mine engineering and maintenance to achieve safety, quality, production, and cost targets.
• Communicate with plant operations to support customer requirements.
• Coach personnel and conduct operator performance reviews for development and training.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the department.
