Job summary

University of Arizona San Xavier Mine Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to support operations, maintenance, and safety across underground and surface facilities. You will assist with tours, events, and outreach while coordinating research projects and teaching labs.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, collaboration with faculty and industry partners, and ensuring a safe, well-equipped learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel out of state once a year could be required for a 4–5-day period

Responsibilities

• Laboratory and facility operations: maintenance of underground and surface areas, infrastructure, and safety
• Tours and events: assist with site events, training, and industry visits; prepare and clean spaces and PPE
• Preventative maintenance & inventory: track maintenance items, address safety hazards, assist with inventory and ordering
• Research and teaching coordination: support experiments, project setup, and lab readiness
