Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Network Architect and Solutions Engineer in California to lead MILSATCOM networking efforts for DoD programs. You will analyze architectures, develop CONOPS, and guide backhaul and transport strategies across space, ground, and enterprise layers.

The role requires active security clearance, senior-level experience, and collaboration with government stakeholders to ensure mission-focused, secure, and resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance or eligibility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, physics, CS or related discipline.
• 10+ years in military communications or network systems acquisition/operations.
• 5+ years in development, research, or advanced engineering supporting government programs.
• 5+ years interfacing with senior stakeholders on requirements and decision-making.
• Experience with MILSATCOM networking and DoD integration best practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical advisor to government leadership for MILSATCOM backhaul and network transport solutions.
• Develop, review, and refine network requirements, CONOPS, and technical performance parameters for SATCOM-enabled services.
• Provide independent assessment of prime contractor network architectures for alignment with standards and mission needs.
• Support evaluation of system trades, risks, and architectural options across space, ground, and terrestrial domains.
• Lead development of CONOPS and technical requirements for MILSATCOM backhaul and transport services.
• Coordinate with prime contractors, DISA, and DoD stakeholders to ensure interoperability and security.
