Job summary

CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is seeking a journeyman millwright to join our Kankakee, IL plant.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment, and contribute to the design, fabrication, and installation of guarding and piping systems for our expanding beverage can manufacturing lines. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a journeyman millwright, with welding, fabrication, hydraulic/pneumatic experience, and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years as a journey level millwright in manufacturing (within 3 years).
• High School diploma or GED; trade school training a plus.
• Welding, fabrication, and machine assembly experience (TIG/MIG/STICK).
• Experience with hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
• Forklift/scissor lift experience preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Design, fabricate and weld guarding equipment in steel, stainless, and aluminum.
• Fabricate and install plumbing (plastic, threaded, welded).
• Install complex machinery per layouts using hoists and hand/power tools.
• Read blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
