Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited in Northern Maine is seeking a maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment. You will troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance while reading blueprints and fabricating equipment when modifications are needed.

The role requires 2–5 years in an industrial setting, teamwork, safety focus, and the ability to work rotating shifts. Sawmill experience and welding certification are assets.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or associate's degree required (including Military Occupation Courses or Apprenticeships).
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Experience with stationary equipment used in production.
• Team environment focused on safety, improved production and quality.
• Welding certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Read blueprints to fabricate equipment and modify as needed.
• Repair or replace chains, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics & pneumatics; weld/cut and use power tools.
