Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods is seeking a full-time Millwright for our Grand Rapids, MI facility. The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installations to keep manufacturing lines running safely and efficiently.

You should have strong mechanical aptitude, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as with a maintenance team. We value safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance or millwright experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Welding and fabrication experience required.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Ability to read and complete maintenance documentation accurately.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during shift.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Equipment Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Fabrication & Welding: Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work; fabricate and modify components.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow safety policies, lockout/tagout, maintain a safe work environment.
• Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement: Identify issues, implement corrective actions, and support downtime reporting.
