Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is hiring General Mechanic Millwrights and Machinists for its Hopewell, VA paper manufacturing facility. You will support design, installation, startup, operation, and maintenance of process equipment across the mill.

Qualified candidates have 5–10 years in industrial environments, journeyman certification, and strong reading of drawings, BOMs, and work packages. Overtime and rotating shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• 5–10 years of industrial/manufacturing experience preferred.
• Licensed Journeyman classification or equivalent MOS.
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support design, installation, startup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of process equipment.
• Read drawings, Bills of Materials, parts identification and work packages.
• Develop data collection routes (temperature, vibrations, acoustics, speed).
• Determine work procedures to assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery.
• Work with precision tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, levels) and align equipment.
