Job summary

PADNOS is seeking a Millwright II in Grand Rapids, MI to install, maintain and repair production equipment. You will diagnose failures using mechanical and electrical expertise, read complex schematics, and develop procedures for new jobs and rebuilds. You will mentor Millwright I staff and may lead projects as needed.

Work involves collaborating with engineering and operations, supporting safety initiatives, and managing maintenance records. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and basic control diagrams.
• 3+ years of machine repair experience with proven performance.
• Experience with fabrication and field fitting of components.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, ARC, air arcing) desired.
• Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working in outdoor industrial settings.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, and machine rebuilding.

Responsibilities

• Install machinery per layout plans, blueprints, and drawings.
• Diagnose equipment failures and execute repairs to restore functionality.
• Perform advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on production equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations support, and product development.
• Develop and document procedures for new jobs and rebuilds.
• Train and mentor Millwright I employees and support onboarding.
• Act as stand-in lead on projects and coordinate with maintenance leadership.
• Support safety investigations and identify corrective actions.
• Use maintenance systems to enter work orders and track parts.
