Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods is seeking a full-time Millwright in Grand Rapids, MI to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment across the facility. The position supports plant operations by maintaining reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of manufacturing systems.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding and fabrication skills, and the ability to service a wide range of industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance or millwright experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Welding and fabrication experience required.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work independently and in maintenance team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and power transmission systems.
• Repair and replace bearings, gear reducers, valves, motors, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Perform precision drivetrain alignments and equipment adjustments.
• Assist with installation, modification, and relocation of equipment as needed.
• Follow safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
