Canfor operates a sawmill in Moultrie, GA seeking a Millwright for the 2nd shift on-site. You will maintain pumps, conveyors, compressors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, performing preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, solid communication, and experience in a manufacturing setting. Basic electrical knowledge and CMMS experience are a plus, with a safety-focused mindset and teamwork

Qualifications

  • Superior troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance; inspect equipment to identify issues.
  • Troubleshoot issues to boost equipment reliability and maximize production uptime.
  • Identify and request parts needed to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Support a safe work environment and uphold safety standards.

This is a permanent, full-time position on our 2nd shift, featuring a rotational schedule that may include weekend work.

What you will do as a Millwright:

  • Working with a high-performance team dedicated to maintaining all mill machinery including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers & chains, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems involved in the manufacturing process.
  • Keeping our systems running smoothly by performing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance. This includes inspecting machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Applying your knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability and implement safe, reliable fixes maximizing production uptime.
  • Having great attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
  • Accountability for assisting in a safe work environment.

Experience and skills that will help you stand out:

  • Superior troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus. Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
