Job summary

Ardent Mills is seeking an Assistant Head Miller to oversee daily milling operations, maintenance, and sanitation at our Commerce City facility. You will guide a team to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety while ensuring adherence to Ardent Mills values and procedures.

You will collaborate with Technical Milling to deliver training and develop technical excellence, manage capital projects, and support cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–2 years milling and leadership experience or High school diploma/GED with 5–6 years milling and leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to create and modify CAD drawings of mill layouts, equipment components and flowsheets.
• Basic knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting cleaning, milling, and conveying systems.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)

Responsibilities

• Identify operational discrepancies and provide solutions with a timeline for corrective action.
• Work with milling team to improve production process, safety, costs, and product quality.
• Ensure mills are properly and efficiently maintained.
• Develop technical excellence in equipment design, process knowledge, and mill flows.
• Collaborate with Technical Milling to establish effective training for workforce, new millers, and interns.
• Support plant departments and engineering for new projects and problem solving.
• Assist in executing and commissioning capital projects
• Identify and define value added projects
• Carry out systemic changes as directed by the Director of Milling
• Coordinate with SME network to deliver milling best practices and technology
• Use standard KPIs to benchmark and improve operations
• Reduce risk, environmental impact, and costs; improve operational efficiency
• Maintain compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, quality specs, safety and sanitation
