Job description

We are looking for an experienced milling machinist! 1st shift, Monday through Friday.

Description:
The Machinist is responsible for all aspects of machine operation, including setting up and operating milling and lathe machines to produce parts. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate cutting tools, adjusting machine settings, and monitoring the machining process to ensure quality output.

Duties:

• Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
• Sets up and operates machinery to cut, shape, or form parts to meet specifications and ensure conformity of finished work.
• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, and grinders.
• Follows the company's tag system and inspects machined products using gauges, micrometers, and calipers, performing quality checks on parts. Completes all relevant forms and reports defects.
• Performs general maintenance on machines, including changing coolant, oils, and other lubricants.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety and maintenance procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with using gauges, micrometers, and calipers.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Quality- and detail-oriented.
• Willingness to learn and become proficient in operating applicable equipment.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, and bend for 8–10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
