Job summary

Lone Star Paving in Central Texas seeks an experienced Milling Machine Operator to work with the Milling Manager and Maintenance Team for safe, efficient milling operations. The role emphasizes preventing downtime, optimizing production, and addressing mechanical issues promptly on asphalt, HMA, and aggregate projects.

The ideal candidate has 2–3+ years in road construction and milling, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work under demanding conditions with a team-oriented approach

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3+ years' experience within the road construction industry.
• 1-3+ years of qualified experience operating milling machinery.
• Understanding of diagnostics, maintenance, and operation of milling machines.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of industrial machinery.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy milling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of milling machines.
• Load trucks correctly, keeping loads centered and within limits.
• Follow grades, run slope, and mark manholes and valves.
• Maintain situational awareness and coordinate with ground crew for safety.
