Job summary

Landmark Paving is seeking a skilled Milling Operator to safely and efficiently operate asphalt milling machines on roadway and site development projects in Florida. You will be responsible for setup, operation, and basic maintenance to ensure precise surface removal and prep for paving.

The role requires strong equipment experience, attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. The position involves long hours with potential weekend work, travel as needed for projects,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating milling machines or other heavy equipment.
• Ability to read grade stakes, plans, and work orders.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling machines to remove asphalt pavement to specified depth, grade, and slope.
• Set up equipment, including drum selection, grade controls, and conveyor adjustments.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Coordinate with ground crew and foreman for efficient material removal and loading.
• Monitor milling depth, speed, and pattern to meet project specifications.
• Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, traffic, and utilities to prevent incidents.
• Assist with machine cleaning and minor repairs as needed.
• Complete daily equipment logs and inspection reports.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
• Assist with other site tasks when equipment is not in operation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
