Smurfit Westrock Roanoke Rapids Mill is seeking a Shipping Manager to lead daily shipping, warehousing and finishing operations. You will manage 28–31 hourly staff across 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 environment, ensuring safe, accurate loading and on-time deliveries by rail and truck.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing or related field.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and shipping/pick and pack systems.
• Freight knowledge and negotiation experience.
• Proven leadership of a shipping, inventory and receiving operations.
• Ability to meet metrics and maintain production standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping, warehousing and finishing operations.
• Lead a 28–31 person hourly team on 12-hour shifts.
• Develop loading plans for safe, damage-free deliveries by rail and truck.
• Coordinate with rail and trucking partners and corporate transportation.
• Ensure training and safety compliance across the department.
• Collaborate with production planning to align with customer needs.
• Drive continuous improvement and inventory reduction initiatives.
