Job summary

Lundberg Family Farms is seeking a dedicated Mechanic to perform quality maintenance and repairs on equipment across manufacturing facilities, ensuring the highest quality rice products. You will follow preventive maintenance, keep accurate spare parts inventories, and uphold food safety with proper handling of tools and chemicals.

Ideal candidates have experience in milling/packaging equipment, basic welding, and the ability to train operators. Flexibility for varying schedules is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience repairing milling and packaging equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to execute an intermediate weld with basic instruction.
• Ability to execute prescribed intermediate Preventive Maintenance work orders.
• Complete understanding of preventative maintenance programs.
• Intermediate knowledge and ability to train operators.
• Fabrication ability to perform cutting/torching and assemble with minimal instructions.
• Intermediate knowledge and ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repair on low voltage equipment. Intermediate knowledge of Arc-Flash principals.
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Must maintain a valid CA driver’s license or in the state of residence and meet insurability standards of our auto insurance carrier.
• Must maintain schedule flexibility dependent on the varying and sometimes unforeseen needs of the business.
• Ability to perform basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
• Basic computer and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Make or assist with needed adjustments or repairs to equipment.
• Ensure a quality preventative maintenance program on all equipment.
• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all processes and equipment related to the Mill and other manufacturing facilities, while ensuring the highest quality of rice product.
• Follow monthly maintenance schedules and communicate with supervisor if schedule is not met.
• Maintain a written inventory of all spare parts.
• Ensure the security of all hand and power tools, at all times.
• Maintain segregation between food grade and non-food grade chemicals.
