Job summary

Baldwin Richardson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Williamson plant on day shifts. You will troubleshoot, repair, modify, install and perform preventive maintenance on packaging and process equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role operates on a 2-2-3, 12-hour schedule with 6:00am–6:00pm shifts. Applicants should have GMP/OSHA awareness, root-cause analysis skills, CMMS experience, and a willingness to work autonomously or in a team to meet

Qualifications

• Minimum HS Diploma; two-year associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years mechanical troubleshooting/repair experience in manufacturing or related fields.
• Experience identifying root causes of failures on mechanical equipment.
• Experience in GMP, OSHA, FDA, EPA environments preferred.
• Experience using CMMS systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMPs to support safety programs and policies.
• Perform preventative maintenance on packaging and process equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair packaging and process equipment (fillers, cappers, case components, pumps, conveyors).
• Support continuous improvement with equipment/process expertise.
• Train and mentor operations staff as needed for first-level maintenance.
• Maintain equipment per preventive maintenance programs.

Our Maintenance function is at the heart of keeping our business running and producing for our customers and consumers. In this role, under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic will perform troubleshooting, repair, modification, installation, and preventative maintenance on packaging and process equipment, utilizing standard work practices to ensure production is completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Our Maintenance Team operates on a 2-2-3, 12-hour schedule, providing a consistent rotation for work-life balance. Hours for this Position = 6:00am - 6:00pm
Sample Schedule Below :
Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday; Off Wednesday, Thursday; Work Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Week 2:Off Monday, Tuesday; Work Wednesday, Thursday; Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will support safety programs and policies to safeguard personal safety, product safety, company property, environmental and team member’s safety.
• Complete preventative maintenance on all equipment to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by providing equipment and process expertise.
• May be involved with providing technical support to Operations Team for training and staff development (i.e. cross training production personnel for first level-maintenance activities).
• Maintain packaging and process equipment through execution of preventive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot and repair packaging and process equipment including Fillers, Cappers, Case Erectors, Case Packers, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• HS Diploma isrequired, two-year associate degree, licensing, or equivalent trade school technical training in related field highly preferred, but applicable experience will be consisted in lieu of licensing or education.
• A minimum of three (3) years of mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience (manufacturing, automotive, farming, or related) is preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting to identify root-cause issues on mechanical equipment or components.
• Experience in food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing, specifically working to meet GMP, OSHA, FDA, EPA standards is preferred
• Experience utilizing a CMMS system is preferred
• Curiosity to learn as well as mentor others on the team and organization.
• Willingness to dig into the root-cause of failures, and ensure the repair is done through to completion.
• Ability and willingness to troubleshoot high-speed equipment in a safe, efficient manner
• A pro-active, high-energy attitude, geared towards achieving continuous improvement.
• Able to work autonomously or in a team environment as a critical-thinker and decision-maker.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime, including off-shift, weekends and holidays when required to support the production schedule.
• Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
