Job summary

Weyerhaeuser's Plymouth, NC Lumber mill is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in safety, quality, and reliability initiatives.

You will plan daily activities for millwrights, electricians, and mechanics, supervise training, address safety and production issues, and coordinate with production to maximize uptime and minimize costs. This role reports to the site Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years' supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team to meet department metrics and goals.
• Experience in leading safety initiatives and ensuring compliance.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, air systems, mechanical drives, components and basic industrial electrical.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance methods.
• Ability to identify root cause and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal/electronic communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational skills, and coaching ability.
• Track record of improving safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and people development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows; familiarity with maintenance planning software.
• Maintenance Planning software knowledge such as Maximo or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and lead the maintenance team.
• Ensure the safety of all associates and address safety issues.
• Supervise and develop the maintenance team for cross-shift communication.
• Utilize preventive maintenance systems to reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Use reliable troubleshooting methods to meet uptime and quality goals.
• Utilize training resources to maximize team skills.
• Use CMMS to prioritize maintenance requests and manage inventory.
• Lead team meetings and trainings.
• Identify safety, reliability, environmental, quality and production issues.
• Coordinate activities with the production team to maximize productivity and minimize cost.
• Reduce waste and address concerns proactively.
• Resolve employee issues and ensure adherence to site policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
