Job summary

Biewer Lumber, LLC is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Leader in Mississippi to direct all mechanical and electrical maintenance across a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing site. You will mentor a maintenance team, troubleshoot critical systems, and drive uptime through proactive planning.

You will manage budgeting, oversee MRO purchases, enforce safety protocols, and collaborate with upper management on capital projects to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 4 years’ equivalent experience in industrial maintenance or wood products.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Proficient computer skills in Google Docs, Microsoft applications and aptitude to learn internal systems.
• Ability to manage maintenance planning, scheduling and budget considerations.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance across the manufacturing site.
• Minimize downtime by ensuring preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Approve the purchase of parts and supplies to maintain equipment to OEM standards.
• Ensure safety standards are followed and provide training to new maintenance staff.
• Plan daily workflow and coordinate with Planning Coordinator for PMs.
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for maintenance staff and monitor progress.
