Job summary

The University of San Diego seeks a Military and Veteran Academic Success Coordinator to support the academic progress of military-connected students and to ensure proper management of VA benefits. This role includes advising, coordinating tutoring, and collaborating with Registrars and academic departments to align with student success goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in higher education.
• At least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in Student Affairs or student support services.
• Proven ability to initiate, coordinate, oversee and complete various projects with minimal supervision.
• Preferred: previous advising in a college setting and familiarity with military-connected students.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic, career, and personal advising to Veteran, Military Affiliated and Active Duty Military students.
• Monitor mid-term deficiencies and outreach to identify barriers to scholastic achievement.
• Coordinate tutoring efforts and services.
• Develop and deliver programs on academic-related topics (note-taking, study skills, time management).
• Serve as a liaison to Registrar and Transfer Analyst for education plans and VA benefits.
