Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to serve military members and their families on base at Eielson AFB, AK. You will deliver one-on-one counseling, lead financial workshops, and create educational materials tailored to the military lifecycle, including pre/post deployment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent with experience), 3+ years in counseling, U.S. citizenship, fluent English, and potential bilingual English/Spanish per contract; housing provided/per

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• May consider associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
• May consider high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required per contract.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Handles virtual counseling or secure communications as authorized; uses web-based or video-based platforms.
• Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision and training.
• All other duties as assigned.
