Job summary

Magellan Health at Buckley AFB CO is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to deliver one‑on‑one and group financial counseling to service members and families on military installations. This role includes education, planning, and virtual counseling options to support DoD programs and unit leadership.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination) and 3+ years in financial counseling, U.S. citizenship, and fluent English; Spanish bilingual abilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associate degree + 4 years experience in lieu of Bachelor's may be considered.
• High school diploma + 6 years experience in lieu of Bachelor's may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Responds to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling channels (web, secure online chat, or video) as authorized.
• Manages duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and training.
• Participates in regular in‑services/training and related activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
