Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and families at military installations. You will educate on financial services, work with installation POCs, and lead personal finance workshops across the military lifecycle.

Required is a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of counseling experience; U.S. citizenship and fluent English are essential, with bilingual English/Spanish if required by contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required. Applicant may be considered with an associate degree plus four years’ experience or high school diploma plus six years’ experience.
• Three or more years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive personal financial counseling services directly to service members and families.
• Educate and counsel on financial services including one-on-one counseling, consultations with commanders or staff, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Work with installation and military POCs to ensure the program meets installation needs.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and provide informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle.
