Job summary

Magellan Health, Inc. seeks a Personal Financial Counselor, Beale AFB, to provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families on military installations.

You will educate, counsel, and refer participants, delivering in person and virtual sessions as needed. Responsibilities include developing spending plans for extended absences, creating educational materials, and leading DoD-compliant classes across the military lifecycle, with regular oversight by installation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• May consider applicants with an associate degree plus 4 years' experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
• May consider applicants with a high school diploma plus 6 years' experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent English.
• If required by contract, bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Must obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI.
• Certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Assists with spending plans for extended absences.
• Develops informational financial materials for service members and families.
• Coordinates and delivers Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and secure video communications as needed.
• Maintains DoD compliance and security protocols.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision and contract activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
