Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial guidance to service members and their families at military installations. You will lead counseling sessions, develop spending plans, and deliver DoD-aligned financial education.

The role requires 3+ years of counseling experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or applicable alternatives), and U.S. citizenship with English fluency; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English.
• Certifications such as AFC, CFP, or ChFC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates, publicizes and provides Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Manages duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision.
• All other duties as assigned.
