Job summary

Magellan Health in Memphis, TN seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to military service members and their families on assigned installations. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, briefings, and developing educational materials.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of financial counseling experience, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination), U.S. citizenship, English fluency, and relevant certifications such as AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual in English/Spanish may be required by contract.
• Must be able to pass OCI/DoD security requirements.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops informational financial materials and conducts classes/workshops.
• Coordinates and publicizes Personal Financial Management classes and seminars.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling modes (web, chat, video) as authorized.
• Manages duty to warn per DoD protocol.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervision.
• Participates in training and contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
