Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor in Memphis, TN to deliver comprehensive personal financial counseling services to military members and their families on assigned installations.

Responsibilities include education, one-on-one counseling, briefings, and coordinating a range of classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, with emphasis on budgeting, planning, and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Certifications AFC, CFP, or ChFC may be required per contract.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develops and distributes informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinates and promotes Personal Financial Management classes and workshops across the military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate financial education sessions.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and secure communications as authorized.
• Manages DoD protocol for duty-to-warn situations.
• Communicates with leadership and participates in supervisory discussions on trends and issues.
• Participates in training, quality improvement, and contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
