The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real‑world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. GE Aerospace, as a SkillBridge partner, offers real‑world training and work experience in in‑demand fields while evaluating the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active‑duty service members.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be required to follow procedures, document work, hold safety in the highest regard, be highly motivated, willing to learn, and perform preventative/corrective maintenance, in accordance with a total preventative maintenance (TPM) program, on various types of Commercial Jet Engine Test Cell equipment.

Duties

• Preventative Maintenance Inspections
• Corrective Maintenance Repair
• Failure Analysis
• Operation of Specialized Equipment
• Setup, installation, calibration, documentation, and operation of analog and digital instrumentation, data acquisition, and processing systems
• Contributing to the investigation, correction, and documentation of instrumentation or system malfunctions
• Actively participate in multi‑skills development
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Assist with safety and environmental inspections to maintain facility compliance

Basic Qualifications

• Active Military personnel in the last 180 days of service
• Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution
• OR high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of technical experience (including experience in industrial maintenance)
• Physical requirements: regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders or stands, work at heights and in high‑noise environments, wear required PPE (hearing/eye protection, safety footwear, etc.)
