Job summary

ERC Pathlight in Houston, TX is seeking a Milieu Therapist to facilitate groups, monitor meals, and support patients in IP/Res and PHP programs. The role may include on-call shifts and requires strong teamwork within a clinical milieu.

Essential duties include crisis de-escalation, behavior management planning, and collaboration with Clinical Manager or Director to ensure consistent care across programs. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in mental health are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required).
• Master’s degree in mental health or related degree program (required).
• Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board (required).
• Minimum 18 months of experience in a behavioral health or related field (waived with relevant master’s degree).

Responsibilities

• Facilitates curriculum-based groups.
• Provides meal monitoring and support.
• Documents groups, meals, patient check-ins and observations.
• Supports milieu including de-escalation, crisis management, bathroom monitoring, and monitoring outside breaks.
• Implements individual behavior management plans and may lead advanced groups in evenings and weekends.
• Covers Primary Therapists with support from Clinical Manager or Clinical Director.
