Newport Healthcare seeks a Milieu Counselor to manage the milieu through client engagement and crisis intervention, and to facilitate groups and activities as needed. The role supports patients needing emergent services under supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager.

The position requires a Bachelor's in human services, counseling, or psychology, and licensure as a Therapeutic Recreational Therapist if not enrolled in a master's program, with a minimum of two years’ experience with

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Enrolled in a master’s program preferred.
• Licensed as a Therapeutic Recreational Therapist required, if not enrolled in a master’s program.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience with adolescents or young adults in a mental health or substance abuse setting required.

Aufgaben

• Engage with patients who are struggling or at risk of harm.
• Support the direct care team in addressing patient issues within the community.
• De-escalate crisis situations using crisis management techniques.
• Facilitate groups and activities as scheduled and as needed.
• Coordinate evening and weekend treatment services with clinical leadership.
• Complete screening and assessment tools when meeting criteria or after training.
• Ensure timely clinical documentation (progress and group notes).
• Attend weekly clinical supervision and treatment team meetings.
• Attend training as assigned.
