Job summary

ITT Inc. in Irvine, CA is seeking a Product Design Engineer I – NPD, Electrical to modify existing high-speed and filtered connectors and assist in new designs for mil/aero applications.

Reporting to the NPD Engineering Manager, you will create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and collaborate with Manufacturing and Product Management to provide cost estimates and ensure design integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience in Mil/Aero high-speed and/or filter connector design.
• Knowledge of mil/aero protocols: Ethernet, Single Pair Ethernet, USB, HDMI, SATA, 1553 databus.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo, SolidWorks, NX or similar).
• Proficiency with high-speed test equipment and signal integrity concepts.
• Strong communication and collaboration across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Modify existing high-speed and filtered connectors per customer requirements.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings per design inputs and constraints.
• Develop PCB schematics and test adapters for evaluation.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Support production and supplier issues affecting interconnect products.
• Develop qualification test plans meeting performance requirements.
• File ECNs and manage documentation updates.
• Travel up to 10% and collaborate with NPD team.
