Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER ITD division in Camarillo, CA seeks a Senior Design Engineer to drive new product development and ongoing engineering support for space and defense interconnect and hold-down release devices. This full-time onsite role requires strong problem solving and adherence to PLM workflows.

You will lead cross-functional tasks, coordinate with test labs and IPTs, supervise junior engineers, generate and review models, drawings, and reports, and support program milestones across iR&D,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science from an ABET accredited institution.
• 3+ years work experience in Aerospace product development.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now and in the future.
• ITAR: U.S. person required (citizen, green card, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead product development tasks within the product engineering team and/or leading sustaining engineering tasks with cross-functional colleagues.
• Coordinate with internal and external labs, production staff, and IPTs to achieve goals.
• Guide junior engineers on project tasks and perform RCCA investigations as needed.
• Generate and review models, drawings, FEA, test plans and reports, and manage program deliverables in PLM.
• Collaborate with customer and vendor technical teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science from ABET accredited institution
