Job summary

ITT/BIW Connector Systems is seeking a Product Design Engineer to generate product concepts, tooling designs, drawings, and BOMs based on customer data and performance requirements. You’ll select suitable materials for environmental constraints and lead projects from concept through production, coordinating with manufacturing, quality, and sales to deliver cost effective solutions meeting customers’ specs.

This role also provides engineering support to existing product lines, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years in Electro-Mechanical product design, preferably in connectors
• Experience with 3D CAD and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Willingness to travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Support projects with engineering leadership, finance, ME, quality, testing, program management, and production support functions.
• Develop prototypes and products that can transition to production.
• Perform design and analysis to meet internal and customer requirements.
• Design tooling and fixtures for cost-effective production.
• Prepare labor and material cost estimates for new assemblies.
• Interface directly with customer technical personnel to interpret design requirements.
• Generate 3D models and 2D drawings using ANSI/ASME Y14 standards.
• Initiate and support drawing changes (ECNs, impact assessments).
• Support production with manufacturing and supplier issues affecting drawings.
