Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit 16 CSIU‑Migrant Education in Milton, PA seeks a Recruitment Specialist to identify and enroll migrant students and families. The role uses home‑base travel across Dauphin County and surrounding areas for outreach and enrollment.

The position requires bilingual Spanish/English abilities, two years in recruitment or related fields, and strong communication. Part‑time, evenings/weekends may be required with a focus on service delivery and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in recruitment, outreach, marketing, or working with migrant education in a similar role preferred.
• Bilingual/bi-literate in Spanish and English; additional language ability in Spanish or Nepali is a preference.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience interviewing and/or administering questionnaires.
• Basic tech capability (Outlook, Google Suite, etc.).
• Proficient with virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Responsibilities

• Visit farms, agribusinesses, schools, and community agencies to establish relationships and enroll qualifying students.
• Refer students and/or families to relevant service agencies and act as an advocate for migrant families.
• Conduct family interviews and complete questionnaires to determine eligibility.
• Obtain school and employment verification and related documents.
• Complete the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) form on the tablet computer for eligible children and out‑of‑school youth.
• Collaborate with Data Specialist to ensure secure and accurate data submission and maintenance.
• Complete weekly/monthly and annual reports on recruitment activities, student needs, and service delivery.
• Aid information sharing across team and community partners to facilitate holistic and timely service delivery.
• Translate/interpret across team and contexts as needed.
• Use internal technologies and develop strategies to assist with the identification and enrollment of migrant families.
• Provide educational services, including in‑home lessons to out‑of‑school youth and some school‑aged children.
• Must be available to work outside traditional office hours, as appropriate, in accordance with the needs of migrant students and families.
