Job summary

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5 (IU5) invites applications for a Migrant Education Recruiter-Student Support Specialist-Parent Involvement Specialist. This grant-funded role is based in our Edinboro Office and requires travel to serve students across Erie, Crawford, Warren, McKean, Venango, and Forest Counties.

The position supports identification, enrollment, and advocacy for migrant students and their families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• Valid driver's license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Visiting employers, schools, migrant families and agencies for referrals and follow-ups.
• Maintain guidelines and procedures relevant to the Migrant Education Program.
• Provide instructional support and intervention for students through schools, homes, and service agencies.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders, funding agents, and IU5 staff.
• Advocate for the Migrant Education Program and migrant students to parents and schools.
• Coordinate and facilitate parent meetings four times per year.
• Attend Parent Advisory Council meetings and communicate program updates.
